Hiring Details:

We are looking for (1) Full Time and (1) Part Time good reliable landscape crew member at Horticulture located in Columbiana, AL. Must be able to pass background and driving check. One year of landscape experience preferred.

Position Overview:

The Crew Member works with a team and is responsible for landscape maintenance and enhancement projects under the direction of the Business Owner. This position is able to operate a variety of equipment and has a working knowledge of horticulture practices. Job sites are commercial and residential.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Complete landscape maintenance duties in a timely manner to meet the company productivity targets. This includes: weed control, fertilizing, annual bed planting and maintenance, aeration, spring clean-up, fall clean-up, & pruning.
2. Completes landscape enhancement projects such as landscape design, plant installations, stepping stone installations, mulch applications, and lawn over-seeding.
3. Maintains a clean & safe work environment, including work sites, & equipment. 
4. Operates a variety of mechanical equipment including but not limited to: commercial blowers, tillers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws & dump trailers.
5. If approved, safely operates vehicles such as trucks and trailers.
6. Assists in communication with clients by answering questions and providing top notch customer service assuring all the customer needs. Communicates concerns to the Business Owner to handle.
7. Cares for equipment & notifies the Business Owner of needed repairs.
8. All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Experience:

1. Individual will have a working knowledge of standard horticulture practices. This includes: weed control, fertilizer applications, aeration, spring clean-up, fall clean-up, trimming, & pruning.
2. One year of landscaping experience is a Plus but Not required.
3. Strong oral & written communication skills, math skills, time management, mechanical aptitude, & problem solving are a must.
4. Alabama driver’s license & car insurance.
5. Experience with plant installations are a Plus.
6. Hardscape experience such as brick, block, & stone is a Plus.

Physical Demands:

1. Employee is regularly required to stand, crouch, stoop, or kneel.
2. The Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
3. While performing the duties of this job, Employee may be exposed to weather conditions such as: wet, cold, hot, or humid climates.

Pay Rate:

1. Hourly- Starts at $15.00 per hour with a potential increase as early as a (3) month period depending on Employee Performance. 
2. Salary- After one year of Service, Employee will have the opportunity to receive a Salary which can be discussed with the Owner at that time.
